While watching Holly Hunter play a talented, animated, and compelling TV producer in Broadcast News, I immediately knew I wanted to work in television news.
However, it is said that “life is what happens” when you make other plans. Upon graduating with my M.A. from USC’s Annenberg School of Communications & Journalism, and while sending my resume reel out to appropriate smaller markets, I fell into a job in public relations, where I learned to use my journalistic writing skills to spin, spin, spin.
And so started a long and illustrious career in public relations. I thrived on the creative, fast-paced environment, working at a large international firm Edelman Worldwide, as well as for smaller agencies headed by PR luminaries such as Josh Baran and Joan Luther. I also worked in-house as Director of PR at a five star hotel, a United Way non-profit and a public affairs law firm. My business partner, Jeff Haskins, and I founded a boutique PR firm in Beverly Hills in 1995 called Hennessey Group, where we specialized in food, fashion and non-profit public relations. After his passing, I launched my own firm, Diana Daniele Communications (DDC), which continues to service the PR needs of a wide-range of A-list clients.
In addition to representing clients in the public relations arena, DDC is proud to announce the creation of a specialty arm in PR Writing. Rudyard Kipling, quoted on PR, once said, “Words are, of course, the most powerful drug used by mankind.” DDC Writes can service all your writing needs, masterfully.
